A rare conversation with one of our last remaining early hot rodders, John was an innovator and a hugely important player during the dawn of the hot rod movement in southern California. His build style can be seen in constant use throughout the hot rod world today and his original '29 model A roadster on a '32 frame now resides in the permanent collection at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC.
