A collective of conversations that inspire, motivate, and encourage runners who know deep down that the world we want to create already exists. We all play a role in bringing it to life. Join former professional runner and life-long athlete, Tina Muir in this unique running podcast. We do not talk to professional runners about their wins or the Olympics. We do not talk about what shoes to wear or what training is best. Instead, we relate every experience back to you, and love to think hard about the questions you would always love to ask.

While we bring on well known guests like Malcolm Gladwell, Reshma Saujani, Ryan Holiday, Des Linden, Michael Gervais, and David Epstein, these are not the same old conversations. This feels more like overhearing two friends talking about the deep conversations that weigh on our hearts daily. Join us in discovering the power of running, why our sport has always been part of humanity, and how we can use it as a tool for realizing our truest self, uplifting our communities, celebrating cultures, and taking care of our Mother Earth.

    Charles Moore: Don't Fear Failure

    Charles Moore: Don't Fear Failure

It was while running the Philadelphia Marathon that Charles Moore made the observation that gave rise to his upcoming memoir: Black People Don’t Run Marathons. Whenever he encountered another Black runner in that race, they would give him “the nod,” an unspoken acknowledgement of his presence there. Reflecting on the experience, he realized that “there was a sort of diversity issue in endurance and distance running.” He had friends who exercised regularly, but none of them had run a marathon. “I thought,” he says, “maybe I can do something to inspire them to add that to their resume of things that they do to continue this journey of being physically fit and healthy.”  Within three years he ran 19 marathons, including five of the six World Majors.

Mary Rice-Boothe: Running Is A Tool For Health, Mental Well-being and Community Creation

Mary Rice-Boothe: Running Is A Tool For Health, Mental Well-being and Community Creation

Many people start running because they’re inspired - or tricked or persuaded - by a devoted runner who introduces them to the sport. Not so Mary Rice-Boothe. The chief access and equity officer of The Leadership Academy ran her first race, the New York City Half Marathon, at the request of her sister - who wasn’t even a runner herself!  She discovered how much she loved running while training for the race and it’s since become an important part of her routine, helping her to deal with the stress of an extremely demanding job, helping to create school systems that support students, especially minoritized students.

Tim Brown: Celebrate the Small Wins

Tim Brown: Celebrate the Small Wins

You might assume that Tim Brown, CEO and co-founder of the revolutionary shoe company Allbirds, has a footwear background, but he actually has a football background. He was a professional soccer player with the New Zealand National Team when he conceived of the idea for a running shoe made from natural materials. Being from New Zealand, where sheep outnumber humans six to one, wool was the obvious choice and the prototype for Allbirds was born. They’ve just launched their new shoe, the Tree Flyer, designed for distance running.

Jess Trengove: Setbacks Can Lead to a Great Outcome

Since the age of five, Jessica Trengove has had “an innate belief that we could all be whatever we wanted to be if we put our minds to it.” Her goals at the time were to be a ballerina, a gymnast, and a veterinarian. Instead she became a two-time Olympian, a physiotherapist and coach, and an entrepreneur. Running has been a constant in her life since childhood, but events in recent years have given her a new perspective on the sport. Joe Robinson and Lance Woods (We Run 313)

Joe Robinson and Lance Woods (We Run 313)

We Run 313’s motto is “Connect. Run. Build.” Lance Woods and Joe Robinson founded the social run club to connect “like-minded individuals through running to build a healthier and happier community.” That community is Detroit, which is where the “313” comes from - it’s the Motor City’s area code. We Run 313 has become Detroit’s largest run club in just three years, not only in-person, but also on Strava, where it has 2190 members.
Joe and Lance are both competitive runners, but the runs that We Run 313 hosts aren’t about competition. As Lance explains, “we're for runners of all levels, all ages, all races, all paces, whatever the case may be. We're a community-based organization that helps people to keep moving and to stay active.”

Awesome!

I love your podcast!! The podcasts are very informative and Tina does a great job helping the guests relax and tell their stories. A wonderful way to get to know the guests and subject material!

Great motivation to get back into running

I’ve been running for a long time but the pandemic has sapped my motivation. I recently discovered the run together episodes and I’m loving it. Makes the miles fly by and helps me feel more connected. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

AnnaEklund ,

Thank you!

Not your average running podcast for sure! This podcast is a candid conversation with you and the host- which in my opinion is so much better than throwing a bunch of info at you! I have used her Run With Me episodes on my long runs and they have really helped me to slow down and be in tune with my body and mind! I recently ran a half marathon which was built into a full marathon training plan and I used her St Louis half episode to really set the tone for my run! I had been saving that episode and I’m so glad I did!!!
