    Limiting Beliefs: Early Retirement

    Limiting Beliefs: Early Retirement

What do you think of when you think of retirement: shuffleboard, playing bridge, or taking a cruise? Or does the subject immediately trigger fear and guilt? In today’s episode, we ask how limiting beliefs about retirement could be impacting all of us. Kathryn interviews Erin and Michiel about their plans to retire in five years, at 50. The two provide transparency on what it costs to live nomadically and explain how experiencing different cultures has redefined what they imagine for retirement.
A big thanks to my friend and our guest interviewer, Kathryn Jarrell. She’s a partner at Future Work Design an organizational design and strategy firm. Being a strategic planner has armed her with the skills to routinely question limiting beliefs and go deep, fast.
Our superstar financial advisor is Brian Lawrence. He and his whole team at North Ridge Wealth Advisors have been helping us work towards retiring early and meeting our ambitious financial goals.

    Lunch in Mexico City

    Lunch in Mexico City

How and what a culture eats often reveals volumes about its values. Today Erin and Michiel are talking about almuerzo (lunch) in Mexico City. What does stopping by a stall for pastor tacos have to do with the way the people of Mexico City approach life and work? And what have they learned about other countries through observing their lunchtime routines?

Thoughtful and Informative

These first two episodes have covered culture, belonging, food, work habits and more. I highly recommend these conversations about finding places and connections around the world!

SpecialEgg2030 ,

Candid and informative!

So inspirational and thought provoking, even if you don’t plan on living out of a suitcase yourself. I kind of can’t believe how candid they both are. Unusually romantic, in a special and unconventional way. When is Episode 2? Can’t wait!
