Khloe's Fro Ft. St. Clair Detrick-Jules

This week I have on filmmaker and activist, St. Clair Detrick-Jules, to talk about her current project soon to be released "Dear Khloe". A beautiful sentiment dedicated to her younger sister she took a journey capturing 100 different women of color to speak about their relationship with their hair. St. Clair shared her own background growing up in a multicultural household and her journey to understand her own blackness and the intersections she possesses. We spoke on Gabrielle Union's America's Got Talent controversy as well. Please support the book when it's released Spring 2020. Listen, Review and Share

    Tell My Story Right!!

    Tell My Story Right!!

This week I spoke on the impact of biopic films centering black public figures. This episode was inspired about the release and controversy around "Harriet" staring Cynthia Erivo. I give why I'm passing on the film as well as best and worst examples that have made us laugh, cry, and cringe. The question or call of action is, Does a person being alive improve the quality of their biopic?

    Jesus is My Name

    Jesus is My Name

This week I speak towards which I plan to be the last time I speak on this man but Kanye has took over the news yet again and I express what I feel about his publicized religious journey and how many aspects of Kanye's public persona is extremely polarizing and worth many different critiques. In addition to praising two great works on their display of historical blackness the HBO Watchmen's opening reenactment of the Tulsa Massacre and Eddie Murphy's commencement of his come back with "Dolemite is my Name". I'm ready to debate on this Kanye stance so come at me and enjoy
