Ep 151: Dueling For Lincoln | TST 7v7

Dueling For Lincoln is not only a heartbreaking cause, but now doubles as a TST 7v7 alum. I was joined by Tim Koppel, Tim Menzel and Bill Stimac the coach and captains of the team. With a first round sweep of teams that included Bayern Munich & Dortmund, the fellas talk about the experience, the vibe, and the type of players that find success on this team… which included a plumber that notched one vs. the German Legends. Check out Dueling for Lincoln on instagram to follow their story and prepare for next years return visit! Let’s go!

Ep 150: Tony Husband | MLS on Apple

In order to impress a true Futbol (Soccer) loving Brit, we had to do this one at Amsterdam Tavern! Tony Husband was an absolute hammer, bringing incredible stories, perspective, insight, and an accent to this episode. Born/raised in Plymouth England to journalistic parents, his career behind the mic was somewhat pre-determined... his transplant to Nashville to cover the MLS was not!

    Soccer Mom Sunday: Lori Chalupny

    Soccer Mom Sunday: Lori Chalupny

Soccer greatness on Soccer Mom Sunday! Host Jennifer Siess from Mine To Define was honored to sit down and chat with Lori Chalupny (Lawson). Her creds are almost too many to list - USWNT, 2015 World Cup Champion, 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist, former pro soccer player. As a Senior at the University of North Carolina, she started all 23 games she played in, scoring 10 goals with eight assists and finished her college career with 30 goals, an impressive number from the midfield, helping them to a 23-1-1 record in her final college season for the second year in a row, and First-Team All-ACC for the third year in a row. From her humble start on the youth competitive scene with JB Marine and Nerinx High School, Lori can reflect on her journey with a unique perspective. Listen in for her down-to-earth conversation about how things were in the Women’s Game, how they’ve grown, what she now tries to impart on her college athletes, and how she’s choosing to Soccer Mom her own little ones as they explore their fun in The Beautiful Game.

Soccer Mom Sunday: Debbie (Coach) Washburn | Lindenwood U

Soccer Mom Sunday: Debbie (Coach) Washburn | Lindenwood U

”Catching up with Coach” on this Soccer Mom Sunday! Host Jennifer Siess from Mine To Define caught up with Deborah (Kehm) Washburn, her former coach. Tune in for an emotional story of the love for The Beautiful Game that had to start later for Debbie as a player - because it WASN’T AVAILABLE for her as a St. Louis youth in years preceding Title IX. But, she’d eventually find a team, proceed to play competitively, and TWICE win the National Women’s Over-30 division of the USSF Open Cup, coached by her mentor, Bob Kehoe, SLU and USMNT. Like so many in soccer, Debbie did the grind - educating students at STL’s Ritenour, while getting her Coaching A license, and building the winning program at Lindenwood University (that started with “Help Wanted” signs looking for players) - she earned NAIA “Coach of the Year” and was honored in LU’s very first Sports Hall of Fame inductee class.

Continuing to get better as time goes on

This is a really good podcast. Well worth following. Personality, production quality, serious, fun. They have a discernible point of view, but they listen as well. Appropriately reverential to the old guard… That’s an attractive quality. That’s something that will never get old.
Not afraid to touch the HS soccer “3rd rail” - another very attractive quality. Nobody’s perfect, and these guys aren’t either, but they are entertaining, they prepare for their interviews, they laugh at themselves, they like to have fun, and they love to needle Kansas City… that’s kind of fun. Soccer Mom Sunday Pod has been an excellent addition to the lineup. The City of St. Louis can make a very strong case as the soccer capital of the US, and these guys (and Jen) like to make that case. The difference maker is that they are also willing to look at St. Louis soccer warts and all and point out things that don’t work as well as things that do. There is an attractive authenticity to that. Keep up the good work people.

Podcast is inspiring a potential visit to St Louis!

I live in Boise, Idaho.

I am a soccer coach that is a life long learner. I like to learn about soccer in other parts of the country. This pod is great and for some odd reason, the music selection puts me at ease and prepares me for some good listening.

Keep up the good work. I am enjoying binge listening to the pod.
