The Station Podcast - 2021 Film Retrospective
The Station Podcast is little over a year old now!
To celebrate this fact, we take a look back over our first year of doing the podcast, to examine our own recurrent themes.
Covering pretty much all of the films that we have been going through in this past year - sort of reviving the original concept for the podcast.
Post-Modernism, dystopias, nature reclaiming it’s place, odd cats.. It's all here, in one glorious (and perhaps lovecraftian) amalgamation.
So, come join us as we delve into the past year as The Station Podcast. -
The Green Knight (2021) - Headstrong and A Gully Of Fern
Moss, degradation and dilapidation.
These things are often the product of nature reclaiming its place, and ridding what once was - eminent and gleaming, to rubble and decay.
As time often plays a vital hand in nature taking it's toll...
This week we look at the 2021 adaptation of the mythic poem - The Green Knight.
We examine how these themes come to light within the film.
Mortality can often weigh down on us, like being on the executioner's block... -
Mullholland Drive (2001) - Lynchesque
What can our dreams tell us about reality? Is Synchronicity a phenomena that blurs the threshold between this world and one of pure intuition? Does our subconscious know us better than us, what would that look like visually...?
This week we take a look at the very bewildering and the highly respected 2001 Art-House Mystery Drama known as Mullholland Drive.
After all, Hollywood is the place where dreams come to life. -
Cat In The Hat (2003) - The Cat That Rocked Pandora's Box
In this month's episode, we take a look at the nightmarish 2003 adaptation of Dr. Seuss's classic children's book - The Cat In The Hat.
We examine why this seemingly innocent film is completely freakish and disturbed, and how this potentially could have come about.
