Episode 8: The Ask
In this episode, we roleplay a meeting with a potential partner so that you can hear exactly how to give a professional and heartfelt presentation. Each episode builds on the one before it, so make sure to listen to the previous episodes first. We explain exactly how to ask people for a specific amount to join your monthly partnership team. We even cover how to text potential partners to set up these meetings. Also discussed is how to respond well to the different responses you will receive and how important follow-up is. Finally, we cover how to take good care of our partners by keeping in touch, thanking them well, and updating them adequately.

Episode 7: The Most Effective Strategy For Building Your Team

Special guest trainer Terry Sherman of Relational Fundraising from YWAM Heidebeek shares how she escaped the trap of poverty, debt, and solely depending on the “manna” of random financial gifts. Terry tells how she learned how to enter the “promised land”. Now she travels all over the world training other missionaries to do the same. Special guest missionary JiHye Cho from South Korea shares the amazing story of how she overcame shame concerning fundraising to build a monthly team of 95 partners using innovative methods!

Episode 6: Introducing Your Vision
In this episode, we train on how to create an effective communication tool that will introduce your missionary work to your network of relationships. This “Vision Letter” is not a newsletter or an appeal for money! This tool is to help set up a meeting in person or on Zoom to share your heart and give people an opportunity to join your team. The topic of how to ask for a specific amount of monthly support and how to know the appropriate amount for each individual is covered in detail. We feature special guest YWAM missionary Shirley Nayasha Chirima from Zimbabwe, Africa. Episode 5: Doing Everything With Excellence
In this episode, we train on how to do an excellent job in partnership development in order to build trust and longevity with your partnership team. Good stewardship in the area of relationships with partners is essential. Managing our time and giving weekly priority to building and maintaining a team is also vital. We lead listeners in a “namestorming” exercise to help you come up with a list of 200 potential partners. We share powerful quotes from YWAM founder Loren Cunningham on how to have the right perspective when approaching friends to become partners so that we draw them closer to us and to God in the process.

Episode 4: The Biblical Case For Missionary Partnership
In this episode, we examine the Old Testament and New Testament to discover the model that God created in order to fund his ministry workers. We look at the example of Jesus and the instructions he gave to his disciples on how to be funded during outreach. We also study the many instructions from Paul on what he taught the early church to practice when it came to partnering with missionaries. We tackle the issue of tentmaking and what part that plays in the area of missionary funding. Special guest Brando Bareño from YWAM Cartagena in Colombia tells how he overcame cultural stigmas to become fully funded as a missionary. Other special guests featured are YWAM Austria Directors, Ani and Harald Hoellermann.

In this episode, we tackle the idea of creating a God-sized budget that will allow you to thrive. We share Jesus’ lesson on counting the cost in order to achieve the mission. We highlight the YWAM value, Communicate With Integrity and teach how to create an effective digital footprint on social media. False humility and the fear of appearing self-promotional can prevent us from telling God’s story of what He is doing through us.
