    233. Updating Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened in May and August of 2019, Star Wars fans were thrilled at the chance to pilot the Millennium Falcon, escape from the First Order, and interact with Stormtroopers on Batuu. Five years later, both lands are still popular and draw big lines for the two attractions. There’s a lot to like from every visit to the Black Spire Outpost. Even so, it’s fun to think about ways that Disney can make it even better. That’s the goal of this podcast.

This episode of the Tomorrow Society Podcast is all about updating Galaxy’s Edge. My goal isn’t to criticize; instead, I want to celebrate what works now and the potential for this area. I’ve recruited some former podcast guests to offer their ideas. Your submissions are also a big part of this show. There’s so much to cover and different ways to change all aspects of the lands.

I received many replies on ways to update Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. It provides a fun experience, particularly if you’re the pilots, but there are ways to make it stronger. I didn’t hear as much about Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance; however, I still spend time on that headliner. There’s also possibilities with dining given the size and scale. There’s plenty to cover! I hope that you enjoy this different type of podcast and all the creative ways to update Galaxy’s Edge.

A Must for Behind The Scenes Disney Fans

I stumbled across this podcast a few years ago and I am so glad I did. I love Dan’s style and guests. Production value is high but simple. After brief introduction, Dan interviews a guest, asking questions that Disney enthusiasts would ask but isn’t over the top fanboy cringe of some podcast. He keeps it real and information is not a repeat of other podcasts or stories. Dan has a soothing and reassuring voice and has kept me company on many long trips and late night events.

Dan’s guest are amazing. Again, not repeats from other podcasts. I have not heard some of their names, but many are the real brains and spirit behind my favorite Disney experiences. The guests are candid and passionate, especially some of those who worked on early EPCOT Center who were making contributions to a new themed experience.

Guests do talk about conflicts and challenges of being an Imagineer, including lack of job security. Dan asks about their lives after Disney. It makes me appreciate these creative folks so much more. Dan provides a safe environment where guests can tell their stories but doesn’t turn into a gossip session. You can tell guest respect Dan as many return for repeat interviews and put him in touch with their colleagues to be on the show.

If you are a fan of Disney, the creative process, or theme park experiences, you NEED to subscribe to this podcast. I look forward to new shows. Dan is like friend that I look forward to catching up with and learning what new information he has uncovered. You will like me appreciate the hard work he puts into each episode and gain a greater appreciation of the people who help create the Disney magic.
