    Are Intellectuals getting ignored in our society?

    In This Episode of The VeleBit Perspective we discuss if intellectuals in our society are being ignored,  the current mindset of the society and consequences of ignoring intellectuals. Who Is An Intellectual ? 1. An individual who is deeply involved in abstract erudite ideas and theories. 2.  An individual whose profession solely involves the dissemination and/or  production of ideas, as opposed to producing products (e.g. a steel  worker) or services (e.g. an electrician). For example,lawyers,  accountants, professors, politicians, entertainers, and scientists. 3.  Third, “cultural intellectuals” are those of notable expertise in  culture and the arts, expertise which allows them some cultural  authority, which they then use to speak in public on other matters.     Fake News

    Fake news is an invention – a lie created out of nothing –  that takes the appearance of real news with the aim of deceiving people. This is what is important to remember: the information is false,  but it seems true. That’s logical! If it is too obvious that it is a lie, it won’t have any impact. Fake news is a little like a false rumour but on a large scale… Just as true information has many faces, fake news can also come in many forms.  Tune in the debut episode of The VeleBit Perspective to find out more. Steps You Can Take To Stop The Spread Of Fake News:- Consider the source (to understand its mission and purpose) Read beyond the headline (to understand the whole story) Check the authors (to see if they are real and credible) Assess the supporting sources (to ensure they support the claims) Check the date of publication (to see if the story is relevant and up to date) Ask if it is a joke (to determine if it is meant to be satire) Review your own biases (to see if they are affecting your judgment) Ask experts (to get confirmation from independent people with knowledge) Thanks For Tuning In !
