An Adventure In Space And Time aka Hung In The Town Square

*car breaks screech* Let's take a slight detour, dear listener...
We've reached the end of the First Doctor's era, and we're not quite ready to say goodbye to William Hartnell!
So, what better than to close his era out with a trip back to where it all started?
This week, we're watching the docudrama An Adventure In Space And Time, made in 2013 for the 50th anniversary, that tells the story of the creation of Doctor Who.
Before the junkyard, the police box, and the teachers, there was simply a Canadian TV exec, an iconic "pushy Jewish bird", a queer pioneer, and a grumpy older actor, who came together to create TV history...
We celebrate the phenomenal stories of William Harnell and Verity Lambert, hail queen Jean Marsh, and cast a critical eye on the most vital part of the whole shebang - the wigs. Eek.

The Tenth Planet aka Tito's Homoerotic Bunk Bed

It's all been leading to this...
This week, we've been watching The Tenth Planet, a dramatic conclusion to the First Doctor's story...and we're a little bit cut up about it!
There's the introduction of one of the most iconic villains in sci-fi, a rather iconic fringe served by ar' Polly, pin-ups, homoeroticism, and the first ever regeneration.
    It's a big one - it's for the girls.

Swampfortress ,

What a treat this podcast is!

I’ve recently started a watch though of all of classic Doctor Who in honor of the 60th anniversary. There were plenty of podcasts out there for the new series, but for the classic series and in order, it was few and far in between. Luckily, I found this podcast, and it is everything I’m looking for! The hosts have a great interplay and are knowledgeable about the franchise. There is excellent episode by episode discussion, trivia, and behind the scenes details. And each episode is capped off by some fun segments such as “favorite background character.” I tore through the releases episodes in one day and cannot wait for more.
