    Own the Dash

“You can discard most of the junk that clutters your mind…and clear out space for yourself… by comprehending the scale of the world… by contemplating infinite time… by thinking of the speed with which things change — each part of every thing; the narrow space between our birth and death; the infinite time before; the equally unbounded time that follows.” - Marcus Aurelius   In This Episode, We Get Stoic About:   There are two dates on your tombstone - the day you are born and the day you die. In between is a narrow dash that marks the time.    We talk about Stoic tips for maximizing the dash on today’s podcast.    Resources + Links:   Connect with Kristofor on Instagram | @team_healey Subscribe to The Stoic Responder on Substack | https://thestoicresponder.substack.com Subscribe to The Stoic Responder on YouTube | The Stoic Responder Buy your copy of In Valor: 365 Stoic Meditations for First Responders, here! One Safe Harbor

“For the only safe harbor in this life’s tossing, troubled sea is to refuse to be bothered about what the future will bring and to stand ready and confident, squaring the breast to take without skulking or flinching whatever fortune hurls at us.” – Seneca   In This Episode, We Get Stoic About:   Life’s events are beyond our control. And when the storm rages in our daily lives, there is no Coast Guard cutter coming to save us. So, it is on us to develop the mental fortitude to confront whatever challenges arise from the deep with resilience and courage, accepting the twists and turns of fortune without complaint or bitterness.   We talk about the only safe harbor on today’s podcast. Habits Beget Habits

“Every habit and capability is confirmed and grows in its corresponding actions, walking by walking, and running by running . . . therefore, if you want to do something make a habit of it, if you don’t want to do that, don’t, but make a habit of something else instead.” – Epictetus   In This Episode, We Get Stoic About:   Stoicism places great importance on self-discipline, self-improvement, and character development. By being mindful of our actions and intentionally cultivating positive habits, we can gradually transform ourselves into better individuals, aligned with our values and aspirations. Habits can create the conditions for success or the conditions for chaos.  Which habits are you  cultivating?   We talk about habits on today’s podcast.
