The Wizard of Wine Pairings

First and foremost I must disclose, right up top, that I have received compensation for this review by way of two chocolate covered strawberries. My thoughts however are genuine and heartfelt. The Pairings wine shop is an utter delight. Aimed at being quirky, fun, and accessible, the shop returns wine to the people and allows you to explore wine with normal adjectives and feelings—utterly removing any snobbery while at the same time serving great quality wine. The podcast is similarly refreshing. The owner/friend host duo are talkative, funny, genuine and supply wine recommendations for horoscopes, moods, seasons, and my favorite —movies. Their recommendation for Marcel in the Shell was spot on and I loved watching the film while sipping their hot take (I shall not spoil, you’ve got to listen). The biggest downside is that the podcast says it will release episodes weekly and that has proven untrue. My biggest gripe is a lack of consistency which I will chalk up to their infancy and hope that with greater support we will inspire them to record with more regularity. Bring more wine!
