The Arsenio Hall Show: Let's Get Busy!

The Arsenio Hall Show: Let's Get Busy!

On this episode, we're talking about a show that was extremely pivotal to Hip Hop becoming mainstream. This show brought Black culture into living rooms all across North America on a nightly basis, at a time when pretty much no one else was doing it, and it was done in a way that wasn't sugar coated or watered down. The Arsenio Hall Show was the first late night show that was truly for us.

We're talking about the bad boys of R&B, none other than Jodeci. This is one of our favorite groups, so this was a must do episode, even if it took us 2 years to finally do it.We discuss their early days as gospel artists, the writing, production and backing vocals that they did for people like Tevin Campbell, Al B. Sure! and Ralph Tresvant before Forever My Lady was released, and more!

Love the Podcast!

For starters, the speaking voices of the hosts are so pleasant to listen to. I wonder if Miguel ever worked in radio, haha. I also love how knowledgeable they of R&B/Hip-Hop and Black film (a huge interest of mine). So much history I’ve learned over the course of listening. Clever title with the ode to Pete Rock. Everyone should check Christina and Miguel’s amazing podcast where they give flowers to some of our favorite singers, rappers and actors ❤️

Can’t wait for more #TROYhive 😊

Christina and Miguel have a great chill energy. These episodes have taken me back to some of my favorite music and I am now deep into my 90s and early 2000s playlists. Thanks for the reminders! I look forward to more episodes.
