THINNING OF THE VEIL

Prophets past and present have encouraged us to seek to understand how to part the veil between heaven and earth.  This podcast discusses the doctrines, principles and patterns of how the the thinning of the veil occurs when we are engaged in the gathering of Israel.  Testimonies of these greater manifestations will also be shared in the hopes that we all may have the heavens opened to us in greater degrees.

  1. NEWBURY NEWS LOGAN TEMPLE MIRACLE

    NEWBURY NEWS LOGAN TEMPLE MIRACLE

    The Logan Temple was dedicated on May 17, 1884 and was the second temple in this dispensation to be dedicated as a House of the Lord. There were many mighty miracles attending each dedication but there is one miracle that spanned continents. Henry Ballard, a bishop at the time was preparing for another dedicatory session, when his daughter Ellen brought him a Newspaper that contained genealogical information about friends and family who were ready to have their temple work done. "Messengers" had brought to Henry, through Ellen, this paper that was dated May 15, 1884 from Thatcham, England, Henry's home town. There is no physical way that this could have happened, but when the Lord is in relentless pursuit of saving the "one", miracles are the expectation. This story has inspired generations of descendants, some of who were M. Russell Ballard and Kay Groll. Both were inspired by this story. M. Russell Ballard verified this miracle by going to the Newbury News headquarters and found out that God had performed a most extraordinary miracle and Kay Groll was prompted to paint a depiction of this miraculous event that currently is displayed in the Logan Temple. This story told by M. Russell Ballard and the story of the Newbury News Painting, create a vivid portrayal of the importance of Temple and Family History Work, and the lengths that the Lord will go to bring about the immortality and eternal life of His sons and daughters.     For thousands of years the reality of transfiguration and translation have been testified of. These spiritual powers and gifts are bestowed upon those who desire to help prune the Lord's Vineyard one last time. When we study the lives of Enoch, Moses, Elijah, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, we realize that the Lord has given great compensatory blessings for the Gatherers. One of the most transcendent blessings, is the ability, through Transfiguration or Translation, to withstand the burning that will come before the Second Coming. Those who attain to the glory that the law necessitates,  will be able to stand in the presence of Jesus Christ, to dwell in the holy city of Zion, and will become a son or daughter of God in the truest sense of those sacred words.     Orson Pratt gave a sermon on Salt Lake City, Utah in July of 1874 at the Old Tabernacle. Among other doctrines discussed, was the topic of Enoch. In this sermon he taught about many aspects of Zion, including Enoch and his people, along with their characters and attributes. It has been over 150 years since this talk was given, but the principles and doctrines that Orson Pratt taught, specifically about those of translation, are even more relevant than they ever have been. We are fast approaching that day when translation will be restored that the work of the Savior will move forward at an unprecedented pace.
