This Is OWL Lives - Lesbian Lockdown Playlist - Part 2 - Lone Lisa

The lesbians are still in lockdown and haven’t seen each other in person due to social isolation rules. Here is Lisa’s response to Sue’s previous Lesbian Lockdown Playlist.  With a great mix of older classic tunes along with a few indie tracks just to keep things different.

Hopefully the OWLS will be back together soon and with that some fun and crazy banter.

The lesbians are in lockdown and strictly adhering to social isolation rules and the OWLS haven’t seen each other for weeks.   But of course that won’t stop them from sharing their thoughts on the world that we are now living in.   Sue has taken upon herself to choose all the music herself in this episode’s podcast playlist.  God help us all!

Don’t tell her but Lisa is secretly impressed with her lesbian lockdown list.  Hopefully you will be suitably entertained too.

Lisa will need to put her thinking cap on now to come up with an even better list so stay tuned for that one.

    COVID-19 Cacophony

    COVID-19 Cacophony

In preparation of a potential lockdown in Melbourne, Australia and with JOY 94.9 only allowing minimal staff and volunteers in at the radio station, Lisa and Sue are recording their podcast at Lisa’s apartment.  Apologies in advance if the sound quality is not up to it’s usual standard but with background noise of dogs and alarms and rummaging through Lisa’s pantry it’s just one of the many things we will need to change in the coming months.

What would happen if Lisa and Sue were locked up together in isolation, how would they survive the pandemic, how would they survive each other.

Lisa and Sue ponder these questions while Sue becomes totally obsessed with the contents of Lisa’s pantry and fridge.  With Sue the vegetarian and Lisa a snackaterian I think they would be in for a bumpy ride.

Living in the shadow of impending lockdown has the OWLS thinking about entertainment and crafting ideas, god help us all.

The Old Grey OWLS Ain’t What They Used to Be

The Old Grey OWLS Ain’t What They Used to Be

Lisa, Sue and menopause just don’t mix. They are dealing with hot flushes, lots of blushes and just plain old night sweats and both are struggling to find anything good about the change of life.

Not only are the OWLS traversing the slippery slope of aging they are finding themselves getting more and more intolerant with incidents of public transport becoming more prevalent.

Lisa also share’s the dilemma of enjoying a night out to see a band wanting to go home early because she is no longer a “night owl”.   It’s becoming evident that the OWLS need to find newer pastimes which allows them to be in bed and rested just after dark.

When is time to hang up the dancing shoes? When is it time to forget the cocktails and head home for a milo?

“The old grey OWL, she ain’t what she used to be!”

    Christmas Intervention

    Christmas Intervention

Scarcely into the month of December and the OWLS were already tired of classic Christmas music being piped in all department stores and supermarkets.   Whilst Lisa and Sue consider themselves to have plenty of Christmas spirit some of the contemporary alternatives that Sue has tried to pass off as good music choices has Lisa deciding to organise a Christmas Intervention to nip her bad taste “in the bud”.

Join Lisa and Sue for Christmas themed banter and a playlist that covers a range of genres and eras.   Don’t be surprised if Sue manages to sneak a daggy Willie Nelson track in, much to Lisa’s disgust.

What is your best Christmas song?   What do you blast out on Christmas morning or do you prefer to have silence?

Lisa and Sue wish you all a fabulous and safe Christmas and we will be back in the New Year to talk about all things “OLDER WISER LESBIAN”.

    Voracious Vermin

    Voracious Vermin

OWLS generally known as birds of prey but in this instance the thought of rodents living it up in Lisa and Sue’s respective houses had them discuss the pitfalls and lengths that they have gone through to rid themselves of these voracious vermin.

Whilst they don’t consider themselves to be timid ladies, they both admit to hating mice, rats and spiders.

Lisa and Sue will give you expert advice and tried and tested knowledge of the type of traps to use depending on how you want to dispose of these little varmints. Old school traps or “no kill” catch and release traps all the way up to electrified traps.

    It’s Woman vs Mouse!

How do you deal with your pesky predators in your house?
