A great cosmos of balance held in pairs of opposites is upset when Sophia breaks away and is lost in time and matter. The task of humanity is to recognize the sparks of divinity in the world and facilitate the repair of the cosmos. In this, Jung recognized our modern inner journey—where the Self represents the wholeness we all seek, mirroring the Gnostic Anthropos, the complete human being. Individuation, much like the Gnostic quest for spiritual awakening, becomes a journey of reclaiming our hidden divine spark. The myth of the Demiurge, who wrongly believes himself the ultimate power supplanting God, serves as a warning against ego inflation.     Hey Supporters, Today we're discussing a question submitted by a supporter: "How do I improve my ability to feel emotions?" The supporter adds, "In therapy, unless I have a pressing matter, I feel blank. Looking at my dreams, I have a hard time identifying feelings. I'm surprised at this realization, but it seems accurate. I feel somewhat embarrassed when I exhibit strong emotions, but especially happy ones.     JUNG LOVE: This Week's Bonus Dream Interpretation

    Hey Supporters, This week, we're discussing a dream submitted by one of our supporters, a 68-year-old woman who works as psychotherapist: "I'm sitting on a dock at a beach on a lake. I have my legs hooked under the dock as I sit there. I look and see that an alligator is swimming toward me, coming fast. I frantically try to unhook my legs so that I can get them out of the water. I can't do it in time, and the alligator attacks me. I try to keep it away from me, wrestling it because it's coming up on the dock. It seems like a young, light green colored alligator about five feet long. Its skin is slippery and softer than I would have expected it to be. Finally, I get away and run off the dock to the beach and up to the house. I'm worried about the people I care about who are still in the water, but I have to get away from the alligator myself to help. I tell people at the house about it and there's a young woman with medium length brown hair who is calm and seems to know what to do. I think that maybe she is some kind of a camp counselor or teacher and can handle the situation. At one point I see her move to press an emergency button and I try to stop her but she says, 'Of course I will press it. It's an emergency.' I did not want to bring attention to it but she's right of course and I feel silly for underestimating the danger. The scene at the house changes to three men in uniforms who have caught the original alligator and now there are two more alligators for a total of three. One alligator looks like the first, light green and the same size, but a third one is white. The men begin to push the first alligator into a large, round, corrugated plastic tube that is hanging down. So the heavy animals have to climb up the tubes. As they lift them into the tubes, they keep their jaws shut around with a band around their snouts and one on the lower part of the animal to stop their tails from thrashing. I can hear the scrabbling noise of their claws as they climb up the tubes and wonder how they can keep their grip. I can't understand why they are getting rid of them this way. I move in and get a little closer to the third alligator, the white colored one. The man who holds him as he waits to put him up in the tube has the head and bound jaws near his chest, and he spits onto the alligator's snout and smears the spit around the outside of the alligator's mouth. I want to ask him why the alligator is white and why he spits on him." Thank you for supporting This Jungian Life!

    Hey Supporters, This week, we're discussing a dream submitted by one of our supporters, a 65-year-old woman who works as a family physician: "I am unemployed. I am not sure how this happened, but I am homeless and have very few clothes. I'm trying to figure out where I will stay when some guys take me in. The place is very unorganized. I can get a job, but I don't have appropriate clothes to wear. I am hiding. I can get a job in a nursing home for $7 an hour. I think I will take the job, but have nothing to wear and no way to get there. The mother of the house comes in and is upset. She doesn't really have her own life together. I have taken some of her clothes to wear, but they are not right at all. I see an acquaintance, a woman from high school who is escorting a small child somewhere and is ignoring me. She doesn't want to get into trouble. There is another woman from high school. We get on a flat bottom boat hoping it will take us somewhere. We end up on the houseboat of an older, rich hippie guy. I am trying to keep a low profile. The guy gets out some pot and everyone is happy. This guy seems to have some power. Everyone in the dream is a bit at loose ends.
