S3 Ep 44: Always a Lady First with mother, author and founder of  Always a Lady First Inc., J. Desiree Rodriguez, discusses her journey as a first time mother and the transparency of motherhood from her experiences that led her to write and publish her second book "Sunshine Autobiography" A quick guide and story for busy and first time moms. She details having going through her first pregnancy and how she wasn't excited about it as well as, being in a different state from her mother and only having the support of her husband and how that strengthened their relationship and communication. She shares the statistics of those African American and Hispanic women that die from cesarean section and the importance of maintaining a balanced and healthy diet and if you can, have your baby vaginally. In her book, she notes the what to do and what not to and the not so glamours part about her pregnancy like experiencing postpartum alopecia.

Desiree,  shares one of her goals are to open a school for girls and Always A Lady First Inc, is a non-profit organization that she founded five years ago to help young girls with community outreach, career development and empowerment.  J. Desiree shares the basic fundamentals of providing mentorship, education and self-love awareness. 

J. Desiree explains the importance of staying organized, having a solid plan, building a team and professionalism.
