You ever sit around and talk albums with your friends? Then this podcast is for you. Barb and August are music business veterans (DJ and record label owner respectively) but don’t let that spook you. Each episode they sit down with someone they know, generally a musician, and talk about an album in track order. What makes this podcast accessible is that often the hosts are aware of the album being discussed, but not already die-hard fans. They each give the album a few spins in prep for the episode (I recommend the listener give the album a spin first or have it handy to follow along for greater effect). Each episode I’ve heard so far has stories and insights into the music, the artists that produced it, and the cultural context of the album.

Such a fabulous podcast. I love the deep dive into the albums and the perspective from everyone. So good!
