TITANIC TALK | Titanic Actor & VFX Wizard Van Ling

TITANIC TALK

Nelson and Alexandra round out twenty three amazing guests on Titanic Talk with Van Ling - James Cameron's closest collaborators and Right Hand Man on many of his epic movies. Van Ling.

Van tells the story of how he first came to the notice of Gail Anne Hurd after building a Hallowe'en costume (an Aliens power lifter) on a bet and showing up at Lightstorm wearing it!

For students of film, he takes us through his journey from USC film school to VFX and directing, spelling out how his tenacity and focus got him his break in Hollywood. He even got Jim his first computer while they were working on The Abyss

He is also recognisable to Titanic fans as the Chinese man at the locked gates next to Jack and Rose and a deleted rescue scene where he depicts the (true) story of one of the six Chinese sailors to survive the sinking.
A fascinating insight into the world of VFX and James Cameron's and Van's own filmmaking process.
