TMJ: What is true and what is false?

I am repeatedly confronted with beliefs during my consultation hours, and I can also find quite a lot of beliefs on the internet about temporomandibular joint disorders and tinnitus. That's why I thought I'd do a series on truths, half-truths and ferry tails about CMD; also called craniomandibular dysfunction, temporomandibular joint and tinnitus.
