    December 15th Sermon

    Bad leaders bring unrest and distress to the people they lead. This was true from the people of Israel as well as for us. When the nation of Israel rejected God as their King, they brought unrest and distress onto themselves. The kings that ruled over them were not so great. But there was one king, David, who was the best of the kings. Each of those kings lead them deeper into unrest and eventually as exiles and slaves into neighboring nations. But God promised them he would bring a new king and this new king would be called Almighty God, Prince Of Peace, and Wonderful Counselor, and that his kingdom would never end. That king arrived after 100's of years of waiting most unexpectedly, in a barn in Bethlehem. Through Jesus, God would re-establish himself as king forever and ever. When we live with God as our king, we live under the Prince Of Peace.

    December 8th Sermon

    God is a redeeming God. Last week we began our Advent journey from Genesis to Jesus in the garden, specifically when sin entered the hearts of Adam and Eve in the garden. This week as we continue the story we arrive at a particular family - Abraham's Family - but even more specifically one of Abrahams grandchildren, Joseph. The story of Joseph is a beautiful story of redemption in and of itself, but it points us further down the road to Jesus. Joseph is the foreshadowing of God's son that would come and through his sacrifice bring forgiveness to all those who believe.

    October 27th

    We need revival.   The word revival is often misunderstood - It means to be brought from death to live.   As we continue praying and living on mission in our community, this week we are praying for the Lord to bring revival to our neighbors. That means to get them from spiritual death to life. The gospel is the power and means by which someone is brought from death to life. You and I have a part to play in the spiritual revival in our city - to advance the gospel on our streets, neighborhoods, workplaces, etc.   Pray for the Lord to bring revival.
