Jared Milrad hosts Movikarma's first Trans Equity Summit, where national leaders discussed the state of transgender equity in Health, Culture, Policy, and Law - and how we can all help build a more equitable and just society for everyone. During the Summit, Jared interviewed Admiral Rachel L. Levine, M.D., who serves as the 17th Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under President Joe Biden and is the highest ranking openly transgender official in American history; Dr. Jerrica Kirkley, who is the Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Plume, the first digital health company dedicated to the transgender community that provides gender-affirming hormone therapy at the convenience of a smartphone; and Kris Hayashi, who serves as the Executive Director of Transgender Law Center, one of the largest organizations in the country advancing the rights of transgender and gender nonconforming people. Speakers addressed the legal status of transgender individuals, health issues affecting the trans community, and actions by the Biden Administration to protect transgender Americans.
