Five teenagers were shot in Greenbelt, Maryland after hundreds of students gathered earlier in the afternoon for a senior skip day event. Police said they were at least 500-600 high schoolers when officers arrived at the park. Five victims, between the ages of 16 and 18, were found suffering from gunshot wounds. Detectives believe the suspects left the park. "This is a horrible, tragic, senseless act that happened today," Greenbelt Police Chief Richard Bowers. "There is no reason that this occurred."

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says the search all over Texas County has shifted to an apparent search for the remains of two Kansas moms. Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, from Hugoton, Kansas, disappeared on March 30 without a trace except for an abandoned car on the roadside Oklahoma police were unable to publicly confirm the identity of two bodies recovered in rural Texas County on Sunday amid a search for two Kansas women who disappeared late last month. It is still unknown whether the remains are those of Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39. Officials say Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelley, two missing women from Kansas, are dead. Four suspects have been arrested and charged with murder, conspiracy, and kidnapping after a custody battle allegedly turned violent

A Vietnamese real estate tycoon has been sentenced to death in one of the country's largest financial fraud cases in history. Property developer Truong My Lan was sentenced Thursday for swindling cash from one of Vietnam's largest banks for over a decade. Lan denied the charges and blamed her subordinates.

Memphis Police Officer Joseph McKinney was killed during the shooting. He was taken to the hospital but did not survive his injuries. A second officer was taken to Regional One Hospital and is now in non-critical condition. A bullet grazed a third officer. MPD said an 18-year-old was killed during the shootout and a 17-year-old was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

Authorities say a man is in critical condition after he was shot inside an LA Fitness after an argument on the gym’s basketball court. The victim was shot multiple times and has been listed in critical condition.
