Truth Be Told: Virginia

This podcast is absolutely amazing. The stories are all so unique and well told. It’s a great snap shot of the amazing people that make up Hampton Roads VA!

We’re taught in school about the pivotal figures in American history. But who teaches us about the every day pillars of our local communities who have played a more subtle, but no less impactful role in shaping the spaces we inhabit, the lives of the young, the economy we engage in? The people and stories featured on Truth Be Told are like ripples in a pond, cascading out and influencing the lives of generations to come and the community of today. I love listening to a podcast that understand the sacredness of these teachers and the stories they leave in their wake.

Depth of storytelling and quality of production gets better and better as you listen. Looking forward to Portsmouth and Newport News seasons.

As a new transfer to VA Beach, this podcast was such an eye opening and interesting listen. The episodes are beautifully narrated and the stories well told to reflect Black history in this region. As a healthcare provider, I feel this will help me care more thoughtfully for my patient population many of whom grew up here. Thank you to the creators, and I look forward to more!
