EP. 387: Increase Your Bowhunting Lethality | Ranch Fairy
Join me on the Truth From the Stand Podcast as I sit down with Troy Fowler to delve into the heart of bowhunting and arrow dynamics. We're diving deep into the world of hunting experiences, arrow spine, and fine-tuning those crucial shots. Troy drives home the critical nature of arrow flight, spotlighting how using underspined arrows can dramatically impact lethality out in the field. Plus, he shares invaluable insights into bare shafting and its profound effect on arrow trajectory.
But wait, there's more! We're not just talking compound bows here. Traditional archery aficionados, listen up! Troy sheds light on how traditional techniques can inform your approach to arrow tuning, especially when you're wielding a compound bow. And let's not forget about arrow point weight – a small detail with massive implications for your shot's precision.
We're also dissecting the broadhead game, folks. From sharpness to durability, we're weighing the pros and cons of single bevel versus three-blade broadheads and how they impact penetration and wound channels. And believe me, we're not skimping on the nitty-gritty details of arrow weight and speed, crucial factors for achieving that buttery-smooth flight every hunter dreams of.
But here's the kicker: Troy spills the beans on why heavy arrows and single-bevel broadheads reign supreme when it comes to bone-crushing penetration. And before we wrap up, we're tackling the age-old question: What's the ideal angle for bagging that prized deer? Spoiler alert: It's all about accuracy and effectiveness, my friends. So, grab your gear, tune in, and let's up our bowhunting game together!

EP. 386: The Importance Of Water Access | Sam Ubl | Chase Nation
Today on the podcast I’m joined by my buddy Sam Ubl. Sam has been hunting public and by permission land, and using water access way before it was “cool.” Sam has a DIY mentality, where there’s a will there’s a way. This approach came from trudging through the swamps of Wisconsin with his dad as a youngster, where sometimes making your own water access skis were a necessity to cross the marsh, reeds and bog. Now…with a camera in hand you can see Sam and his crew at work on Chase Nation. This conversation was a long time coming, and hope you all enjoy it as much as I did - thanks for listening.

EP. 383: Becoming A More Efficient Hunter | Dan Johnson
Today on the podcast I’m joined by my buddy Dan Johnson. If you’re anything like Dan and I (and all of you out there juggling family, work and other responsibilities), it seems like our time gets more limited every year. Whether by choice or out of necessity, efficiency is the name of the game. Gone are the days of having all the time in the world to scout or hunt endlessly. Or have all puzzle pieces to the chess match. Now we rely on past experiences to fill in the gaps and make quick decisions. Whether that’s when to move, when to hunt, what cold fronts to hunt or…if you’re better served knowing out that honey do list this week vs hunting. All of these decisions come a little quicker with a little more accuracy with experience. Always a good hang with Dan, hope you all dig the chat - thanks for listening.

EP. 382: If You're Hunting Hot Sign, You're A Day Behind | Brandon Barlow
Today on the podcast I’m joined by my buddy Brandon Barlow. Brandon hunts public and small permission parcels in the south. As a native New Yorker he's had to adapt his hunting approach from relying on the historical calendar dates of good whitetail hunting...to now using long-term data to keep him in the game as his season is much longer. And the deer seem to have a much broader breeding window within specific pockets. He runs 100+ cameras a year and has been able to glean some pretty interesting observations. I'm a long-term data guy myself and I was looking forward to picking up a few new nuggets of insight for myself - thanks for listening.
Available on all podcast platforms!

Customer Reviews
Love this Podcast!!!
Clint is awesome! He gets the most interesting guests that come from all walks of life but are all very successful in the woods. Then he picks their brain apart for his and our benefit. He talks a lot about martial arts too and he is really lighting a fire under me to get that back in my life. I just found this podcast but I can’t stop listening. It’s informative, interesting, I always get a couple laughs and it’s motivating. The podcast makes me want to just do better in every area of my life. If you are still reading at this point no I am not related to Clint and no he didn’t pay me. The podcast is that phenomenal in my opinion. Thanks Clint keep up the great work!!!
Not a martial arts podcast
I love the podcast and don’t mind the mental comparison of martial arts and hunting but, this last podcast was too much on sparring. Few comparisons but need mostly hunting.
Talk talk talk
Man he just talks way too much about himself, his ideas, and his hunts repeatedly. Your supposed to have a guest on for a reason and that is to listen to their thoughts and ideas.
