#110: Johan Erasmus: Were the New Atheists right?

Following the death of his father as a child, Afrikaner pastor Johan Erasmus struggled to find a place where he could ask sceptical questions about faith, God and the Universe. During this time he discovered CS Lewis, but also Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens. Here, he tells the first half of his story. Thought provoking and insightful

I often feel I am hearing alternative perspective some things I have always assumed are a certain way and I think it’s important to stay open to new ideas, while staying grounded in God’s word. I feel they do that pretty well in this podcast.

Welcoming “Ray Romano” Sound-a-like

New to this podcast, though have listened to others in the Premier family. Glad to hear Vince, and can’t shake the idea that I am listening to “Ray Romano” talking about Jesus.

Timely and informative

I really love this new podcast format, bite sized bits of apologetics related discussion. I’m looking forward to what they have to talk about and hope there will be more on how to talk to non-believers and skeptics in a way that’s authentic. One thing though, I was extremely surprised and disheartened to hear part 2 of the interview with Lisa Fields turn political and for her to offer such a narrow-minded and divisive description of evangelical, white voters in the US. I’m not sure if these are shared beliefs with the creators of this podcast, so I am cautiously continuing on with it.
