Understanding Empathy vs Sympathy and Why People Riot

Jared & Tyler have a tough conversation about the shooting of Jacob Blake, Breonna Taylor, and the events in Kenosha, WI. The two discuss systemic oppression and how "well-meaning" people can be complicit in perpetuating oppressive thought viruses. SYMPATHY = acknowledging that the other person is going through an emotional or physical struggle, supporting them and giving them comfort.

EMPATHY = something more than just this. It’s actually understanding what the other person is feeling because you’ve had a similar experience yourself or you’re able to put yourself in their shoes.
