Honest as heck conversations about the good, the bad, and the ugly of entrepreneurship.

Hiii, we’re Han, Fran, and Alethea, entrepreneurs who each run our own online businesses and we created this podcast because we’ve noticed there are a lot of conversations that get skipped over when it comes to running your own business.

On Unfiltered, we’re dishing about the things we're currently battling with, the icks we’ve encountered, and the advice we wish we had when we were just getting started.

No BS. No fluff. No everything is sunshine and rainbows. Just a space for creating a community that’s all about having real conversations so we can support TF out of each other.

We’d love for you to come join us.

    09. Boundaries vs. Contracts and How We Handle Both in Our Businesses

As a biz owner, you’re gonna have to learn how to set clear AF boundaries with clients and enforce consequences when clients don’t do what they’re supposed to do. But… those things take practice and can feel intimidating to do, especially if you’re someone who worries about coming across as “mean.”
In today’s episode of Unfiltered, we’re spilling all of our thoughts on boundaries. What they are, how they’re different than contractual agreements, how to communicate clear expectations to clients, the types of boundaries we’ve set in our businesses (like not tagging clients we’re in the process of working with), and more.
As always, it’s one spicy conversation that’s completely unfiltered. Enjoy!
    Episode highlights:
06:51 - What boundaries even are and how they’re totally different from contractual agreements 13:17—16:47 - Why it’s best to avoid working with anyone who asks for you to make an exception to your process/contract 18:25—23:18 - The importance of communication with clients—from communicating potential consequences to communicating personal boundaries 24:23—34:54 - The #1 thing to remember when clients violate a contract 35:12—42:25 - Why we don’t post about the clients we work with (until a project is finished 42:33—54:31 - Boundaries we have and communicate to our clients about tagging them in stories and sending them gifts 55:14—01:06:07 - Boundaries we have around work/life balance 01:06:10—01:08:34 - A reminder that boundaries and self-care are never an excuse for providing a bad client experience or dropping the ball on client work

In today’s episode of Unfiltered, we’re diving into a spicy topic that’s all about whether or not you should outsource the things that don’t light you up, when outsourcing actually causes more harm than good, and why it’s important to sometimes grit your teeth and learn to do something yourself.

Fun, informative, and inspiring

I love this podcast! These three women have such a warm, positive, and fun energy - it makes me want to join in and chat with them! I also learned things I wish I would’ve known a long time ago about my biz, including some really great info on branding and investing. As a surprise added bonus, I also somehow walked away feeling like I’d finally moved through some resistance that I’ve had with my biz for quite some time. Thanks for the inspiration ladies! I’m looking forward to checking out future episodes :).
