    The voice of the Lord - Psalm 29

    When “God said”. (Genesis 1:2-3) That means when he spoke; when He said the word. "Let there be light." And behold there was light. The voice of God- is mighty beyond our comprehension. The voice of God is powerful enough to bring creation into existence and yet soft enough to comfort an aching heart. As He comforted a despondent Elijah in 1 Kings 19:9-13. The same way God comforts us when we listen to Him and believe.     In the beginning - John 1:1-18

    Awaiting His Salvific power, with Jesus - Titus 2:11-15

    We're awaiting Jesus! Merry Christmas! It’s incredible… Salvation came… when Jesus came… A little baby was born a little more than 2,000 years ago under very unimpressive circumstances… He was born to poor working people… living in an oppressed country… He was born while the parents were on a journey that was required… involuntary… and they had to stay in a stable instead of in a home. The baby was laid to sleep in a trough from which cattle usually ate. And yet, Christians down through all these years have believed that there was something very special about that birth.     Awaiting His Salvific power with Joy – Isaiah 12:1-6

    In Isaiah 12:1-6 we find a message of joy. If we compare Isaiah 12, this song of Joy, with Psalm 30 where we find a psalm of trust and then if we compare those songs to John the Baptist's message, we realize that to have JOY, that profound abundant JOY that only comes from God, we come to realize that it all starts with repentance. For us to follow Jesus means more than saying the right words; it means acting on what he says. Many of John the Baptist's hearers were shocked when he said that being Abraham’s descendants was not enough to ensure salvation. In today’s world, in our world that means that we cannot rely on someone else’s faith for our salvation. What changes can you make during this time of waiting and what might you share?     Awaiting His Salvific Power with Peace! - Philippians 1:3-11

    Let me ask you: Is what you do remembered with joy by those who don’t know our Lord? Do your acts of kindness lift others up? Friends, perhaps we need to look closely at our communities, at our churches, our circle, maybe help our ministers, maybe help missionaries who are far away through prayer, with hospitality, and financial gifts. Maybe with those attitudes and actions you just might reflect God’s salvific power.     When the Truth Speaks! – Revelation 1:4-8

    In the Bible, an apocalypse is a moment when God pulls back the curtain that hides heaven from earth. The Revelation offers glimpses of a holy reality which is normally hid from our eyes. We need to consider that each letter was directed to a church then in existence. but this letter also speaks to conditions in the church throughout history, both in the church today and in our individual lives now.
