Vining Gallery

Vining Gallery is a fine art gallery that sits just outside of downtown Indianapolis and is owned by professional artist Justin Vining. Over the years, Justin has been fortunate enough to work with some of the best artists in our country along with some of the most interesting people in our city. Often in the gallery, Justin finds himself having the most thought provoking and unexpected conversations. From race car drivers to business owners, these conversations are not just about art, they are about our city, parenting, selling, crypto, nfts, the metaverse, and so much more. This podcast is an extension of these moments.

    Episode 011 - MJ Coyle - HGTV Designer and Artist

    Today I am not in the gallery, but kind of am.. Recently, one of my best friends in the world, MJ Coyle, moved his design and art studio into our building on East 10th Street in Indianapolis. Even though we both own & operate two different businesses, MJ and I have worked together almost daily for years now. MJ is best known for all of his interior design work on HGTV’s Good Bones, but fun fact, a lot of the artwork featured on the show for years, was created by him. MJ has been super busy the last few months, not only filming, but preparing his largest collection of artwork he’s ever created for an upcoming solo exhibit in my gallery that is opening on November 3rd. Today, I’m in MJ’s studio to talk about his upcoming show. MJ, its great to be in your space.

    Episode 010 - Hector Acuna

    Today in the gallery is Cedarsburg Wisonsin artist, Hector Acuna. This is an unexpected episode as Hector was traveling through Indianapolis on his way home from the Bath County Plein Air Festival and he made the stop at my home to drop off his paintings for my invitational. Hector and I stayed up until 1:00 am last night talking everything art and continued that conversation this morning here on this epsiode. Hector is best known for winning best of show at last years door county plein air festival which put him on the map. Hector it’s great to have you on.

    Today in the gallery is Noblesville, Indiana painter, Stephanie Spay. Stephanie is best known for her figurative oil paintings that often have a compelling & thought provoking narrative to them. The last few years she has been crushing, winning all kinds of prestigious awards and just in the last month has taken Best of Show at the 99th Annual Hoosier Salon along with winning an award of Excellence at the 2023 OPA Eastern Regional exhibit held in Alabama.

    Episode 004 - Scott Jones Visits Indy

    Today in the gallery is a very well known figure in the traditional art world, Scott Jones. Scott has been a passionate art collector since the age of 16 and after a successful exit from the business world shifted his focus to his passion, selling art. Scott managed the Legacy Gallery for 10 years and during that time, he was working with some of the best artists in the county. After that he took a year and was associate publisher for Fine Art Connoisseur and Plein Air Magazines. And a couple of years ago, he followed his family to Seattle and has now been consulting with the Cole Gallery out of Seattle. Scott flew into town a few days ago and I asked if he would be open to sitting down for the podcast.
