Waves: the City of Kenora Podcast Megan Dokuchie

The City of Kenora wants to hear thoughts from the public on short term rentals (STR) in the municipality. Alberic Marginet, Associate Planner, joins Josh and Megan to talk STRs , why the City is looking for input and how to get involved.

Spring has sprung in Kenora and Lake of the Woods! Josh and Megan are joined by Shaun Clifford, Manager of Facilities, to chat about the history of the iconic Coney Island Floating Walkway and go on site as the City of Kenora team moves it for the summer.

The Festival of Lights is an annual City of Kenora holiday tradition with thousands of ice candles that are lit on Christmas Eve at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery. Councillor Barbara Manson shares the history of the event and tells Josh and Megan how it all got started. Megan spends some time with the Parks Department and learns the ins and outs of how to make a perfect ice candle.

Chief Kent Readman takes Josh and Megan on a tour of Firehall #1 and chats emergency preparedness. Josh participates in training exercises and learns what it takes to be a firefighter in the City of Kenora.
