For those of you who just need affirmation: Yes, this is the podcast you are looking for and need in your life if you have any interest in TLOU (The Last of Us) at all. I would argue that even those who are not interested would benefit from listening as well (More on that shortly).
Wayfarin' Strangers is an ongoing journey created by superfans of the original IP. Much like my first experience with TLOU, I have spared no amount of my free time with these delightful people. Both Jack and Andrew, as well as Barb (Who?), give this podcast an attention to detail that is only displayed in content creation when true passion is involved. The world is over saturated with content of various levels of quality, but (and remember to ignore everything before the but) Jack and her efforts in this podcast are absolutely worthy of digest. This podcast brings to the table just about everything you could hope to feast on, and then some. Whether it be the dissecting of philosiphies of the various factions in the TLOU universe, the pros/cons of vambraces (ARMor, if you will) , or the implictions of a lone tissue box, Jack and Andrew's eyes and perspectives on these topics should leave no doubt to the listener that these hosts strive to provide the most in-depth analysis of this franchise possible.
While the run time of the average episode exceeds the 1 hour mark, the production quality keeps the flow moving and makes good use of every minute with information, humor, emotion, or just all around great conversation. At the risk of crossing into parasocial territory, I've come to see these hosts as I would friends who I could listen to all day and night. Prospective listeners who may just be looking for good vibes, and not necessarily TLOU discussion would still find a healthy amount of camaraderie here. Indeed, even in particular cases where I may currently disagree with an opinion given on the podcast, they do an excellent job at going through the reasoning for their interpretations. I never get the sense that they hold their opinions just for the sake of holding them, and I absolutely respect them for that.
Although I am currently caught up with this podcast, Jack and Andrew have completely sold me on their podcasting chops, and I am supplementing the time between episodes with their other projects who I also wholly support and recommend. (But thats a tangent for another time)
Everything about this production continues to improve as time goes on, and I have no doubt that big things are coming for this humble podcast. This is a show that has spanned over 2 years, and I honestly hope to continue this journey west with them for many more years to come.
