Are websites going away?
09/02/2019
Maybe, though, based on roll around in my head thoughts for data points, not anytime soon. Less than feelings and more on numbers and purpose. Google is really going to have to find a way to get out and away from what it’s currently doing which is turning into an all in one sanitized monolith. It’s a great question. Apps seem to only have a single or two fold or three tier purpose, maybe. A lot of apps are graphic driven with a message. The start up cost of apps are huge. Websites can be engineered for much less and do much more. With Ahref on the rise even Google is going to have some good competition. If not them somebody else. This means not everyone’s going to have to adhere to googles control of the seo indexing environment. There are going to be breakaways. Possibly websites will be developed on purpose or in part to be non-indexed. There will be code to specifically opt out of indexing so that you have to go to the site to find whatever the subject, activity, application or point is. Websites don’t just serve milk to your door or deliver mail. And Google or at least Google index certainly does not carry through the character of the business that it skims from. Take HP or IBM or some government certification site, they are deep , complex, have partnership programs and there are no apps for them.
Great for people of various technical levels

Each episode I’ve listened to could pretty much stand alone and give you some solid information on the topic. Host Tim Yardley is open to continuing the conversation regarding podcast topics and the show notes have some solid resources that I’ve used for my own development projects.
