We will be talking about intersectional social issues and how almost everything in our lives is interconnected, popular social events, and other topics of social journalism. The lessons to be taken away from this podcast will differ for each episode but the overall theme is education. Education is a gift to ourselves to help us grow. MWAC's mission reflects the needs of thousands of migrant workers and students, helping them build power and providing support as the coalition presses for quality jobs and equity in the workplace for ALL! SPEAKER #2 MAYA MENEZES A senior Climate Finance Organizer at Stand Earth. Maya works at the intersections of financial regulation, fossil divestment, Indigenous land rights solidarity, and organized labor's reclamation of justly invested pensions for climate resiliency. SPEAKER #3 DR. MILI ROY A practicing physician and mother living and working in the Territory of the Mississauga's of the Credit First Nation. She is an Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and serves as Ontario Regional Co-Chair for the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment, which works to improve human health by protecting planetary health.
