Hi, I’m Dan Portnoy, and I live in the Los Angeles Area. In my time here, I’ve been a creative director, a writer, a pitch man, a consultant and a filmmaker. The truth is, depending on the day, I’m still doing all these things. Over my career, I’ve worked in several creative disciplines, and no matter the field I see similarities in struggles and triumphs for creative people. Copy That is a term used in film production that shows agreement or understanding. The truth is I think we’re all creative in our work and our lives. My goal with this podcast is to learn, understand and help articulate some realities that I wasn’t aware of when I started down this road 20+ years ago. We’ll talk about tools of multiple trades, but I want to get into the mental space of creativity - the courage to create, what drives us and how we can hone our skills. I’ll be talking with pros and celebs across multiple creative fields and ask for their help to understand better so we can Copy That.
