Sabrina Tavernise

So sorry that Sabrina has left The Daily. She had such a distinctive voice was a pleasure to listen to.
Great podcast

Please keep doing this great journalism, I love your work especially in these dark times.
A Must Listen
قبل يومين
I start every day with The Daily. It’s smart, concise and insightful.
Rachel is not it
قبل ٣ أيام
I listen almost every single day. The inflection in her voice seems like she doesn’t care. She adds leading adjectives of her own opinion instead of just stating the facts. Please don’t replace Sabrina with her.
New host

Feels much more biased.
Text security breach

I did not like the pace of this recent show. It was too fast and too much joking before moving into the content.
No Sabrina Tavernise 😀

Finally, I was wondering why it took so long.
Oh my dear god

I’m very liberal, but absolutely everything about these people rubs me the wrong way.
Garbage reporting...
قبل ٣ أيام
Natan Odenheimer cohosted an episode with Sabrina Tabernese today 11/27 with a garbage story of how Israel uses Palestinians as "human shields." When Sabrina asked Natan how he came across this story... he said he overheard a stranger talking about it at (ready?) his gym!! AT HIS GYM?! Natan then goes on somehow talk this an "anonymous" gym-patron (who he "randomly overhead"...) into offering more details. Not there, but somehow got his phone number and called him. Then over the phone he got a few more details before this "anonymous" soldier ended the discussion. Natan then goes on to detail how he "found" more people, and how "others" came forward to "uncover this disturbing practice." Natan describes this anonymous, unknown secret practice as: "some platoons" and "high level commanders" ordering Palestinians to lead the IDF through tunnels under Gaza. In this entire story, all sources, all of them, except one are... anonymous, unnamed people who "confirmed" to Natan they they were victims. Sabrina asks Natan if he talked to the IDF to inquire about this practice. The IDF told Natan they would look into his claims, and Natan reports this as, "the IDF did not deny the use of this practice [...] and no one has been punished" to his knowledge. "Looking into" an accusation is not admitting the practice. Stating "no one has been punished" provides a false narrative that the practice is verified. It's not... Also, at some point during the story, Natan describes anonymous IDF soldiers using anonymous civilians to help find the bodies of some captured during the October 7 raid... Natan specifically says "to look for the bodies of soldiers taken hostage on October 7." ... not "civilians" but specifically called all the hostages "Soldiers". And Sabrina doesn't challenge him on this!! She just lets it go as part of the narrative. This gives credit to Natan's suggestions, that soldiers (not civilians) were taken hostage from Israel and dragged back into Gaza. So just rewind: Natan overhears an (anonymous) stranger at a gym talking about a secret practice that (anonymous) platoons and (anonymous) commanders use where (anonymous) Palestinian civilians lead (anonymous) soldiers through the tunnels. He then "investigates" and finds more (anonymous) soldiers who come forward to tell their story. There's no story about the tunnels in the first place, there's no story about how hostages are still being held by Hamas, or how Hamas attacked Israel and won't give these hostages back. There's no story about Hamas hiding in these tunnels and stealing resources from Palestinians, there's no stories about the tunnels in general. None. Instead, the focus is on an anonymous tactic where anonymous soldiers take anonymous Palestinians through tunnels... this is a published story by the New York Times. This is considered journalism? I was so flaming angry after the sloppy journalism I canceled my subscription, canceled my New York Times cooking subscription, and will delete my subscription to this podcast. Never have I heard such an irresponsible story published to a mainstream audience. This story is point-blank anti-Semitic, and the New York Times should be shamed for publishing it. Sloppy, irresponsible, harmful journalism.
Phenomenal podcast
