Westerns With Dad
It's a podcast about watching westerns with your dad. Or in this case, my dad. From John Wayne to Clint Eastwood to Sergio Corbucci to Bud Boetticher, we'll watch and discuss as many as we can, looking at the films, the genre, and our relationship to them (and each other, a little bit).
Westerns were mine and my dad’s thing too

First I want to say that I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you and your dad have a great relationship. I was the oldest girl, and the child most like dad. I was hooked on Westerns when I saw Lonesome Dove for the first time. Dad and I really bonded over John Wayne though. I just listened to The Cowboys episode. Hearing you and your dad talk about this John Wayne film took me right back to the ages 6-8 (1999-2001). Those were my formative John Wayne years. My dad in no way prepared me for what was going to happen in that film. It took me about twelve years to get over it. I lost my dad in 2015. I wish I had been able to do a podcast like this with him. Thank you so much for this podcast and for the memories that it brought forward.

Matt’s constant nervous laughter is so annoying I had to turn it off despite being into what the dad was talking about
Very entertaining

Was just listening to the True Grit episode. The scene where Rooster Cogburn shoots the corn dodgers makes it into Rooster Cogburn and the lady, sequel to the John Wayne version of True Grit.
