THEY’RE BACK
06/12/2023
THEY’RE BACK!!! These podcast hosts don’t frequently make new content, which is understandable as they both have very busy lives. But when they do upload, it is ALWAYS worth the wait! Here’s to hoping for more content from you both, great podcast!
Amazing Gem! Never changes

I love everything about the podcast PERIODT!!! Charneil and Dee are deeply compassionate people giving in-depth socioeconomic perspectives and how it plays a role in true crime as two people who have tons of work experience in social work backgrounds. I love their banter(never change). I love their personal stories(hi lights their personalities). I love their commitment to inclusiveness and growth. They cover big hitter cases and some cases I’ve never hear. Listening to them is like listening to my best friends who love true crime I never had. I love their laughter and how they work thru difficult discussions (lots of ppl laugh in uncomfortable situations or conversations, it makes you human not rude or insensitive. Context matters). Is it the most polished production all the time? No, HOWEVER the content makes up and then some for the few bumpy parts in my opinion. They’re funny, downtown to earth, educated individuals with full time careers and families who worked hard to put out episodes when they can while spinning many plates. I wish I could pay them a million dollars annually so they could do podcasting full time and just because they deserve it! If they’re not your cup of tea, kindly please kicks rocks and take the neg reviews with you. It’s hard for podcasts with BIPOC podcasts to get visibility so none of them need any trolling help. I will listen as long as they continue to make episodes. Sorry for the long review but I said what I said.
Come back!

I miss this show, please come back!
Disorganized
05/19/2022
I like the banter and the tangents, and the analysis of the crimes/criminals/mental health/etc from a social worker’s perspective. But the storyline is VERY disorganized and often the hosts give their analysis on something about the case that they haven’t even told in the episode yet. I have to read the Wikipedia page of the case to follow along.
New listener!

Just started listening after recs from a different true crime podcast fan! I’m a therapist so these hosts are right up my alley. I’ve noticed they didn’t update consistently in the past but hoping they’ve picked back up now!
Can’t stop listening..

I love Charneil’s take on things. He seems to actually research and give his insight on the topics at hand. Dee, not so much. Sometimes I wonder if she even researched anything at all, and that’s when I can actually understand what she is saying. Her enunciation and constant giggling is terrible. But the cases are so interesting, I can’t stop listening. Where did y’all go?
Morbid, and Crime Junkie are A MILLION TIMES BETTER

The banter between you two is awful. You all laugh and it’s inappropriate considering you’re about about someone’s life being taken. You all breeze past the victims and empathize with the murderer(s). This is the worst true crime podcast I’ve ever heard. You all do not respect the victims enough to tell their stories without laughing and that’s disgusting.
True crime from social services pros

Dee & Charniel are amazing. They understand the human elament of true crime bc theyve worked, studied and sometimes lived that human element of true crime. Updates are sporadic but always worth it
A wonderful, thoughtful show

True crime with a conscience! I’m so happy they’re back and I’m so happy this podcast exists - if you’re interested in True crime and feel the current climate doesn’t focus enough on mental health, socioeconomic, and racial circumstances, this podcast is for you. They always trigger warn and try to be kind and understanding to their viewers, as well as the victims. I greatly appreciate that as while I am interested in this topic I have to bow out on occasion and knowing that upfront is better than finding out when you’re midway into the topic. Please give them a listen, and thank you both for this podcast.
