    Episode 54: Transgender Murder Cases

We wanted to take this week to highlight some cases where the victims of these crimes are transgender and/or gender non-conforming. We felt we should given the lack of space a lot of these cases and victims are given. There are four cases: three very recent, one from about a decade ago.

I happened along this podcast accidentally and am so glad I gave it a listen. Very well researched cases explained thoroughly and with a keen awareness of the psychological aspects of the event and the people involved. All peppered with endearing bits of the personalities of the hosts - which is annoying in some podcasts, but not in this one (to me, anyway). I think the narrators play off each other well. They’re relaxed and welcoming and make it seem like we could all just be chillin in a diner somewhere, listening to these stories over plates of grits. (Sorry - you mentioned that in one of your episodes and I had to include it.) 😊

One of the best true crime podcasts!

Charneil and Dee do an amazing job at telling these stories while also weaving in their experience in social work. Each episode is entertaining, and not too gruesome, so it’s really accessible to everyone interested in the cruelties humans sometime exhibit, but with the awesome benefit of the warmth and joy that these two hosts bring. Check it out! I ended up binging all the episodes within a month because of how good they were.

Love this podcast 💜

I love the perspective the hosts bring to these situations. There’s meaningful social commentary on time/places/events, especially the more historic cases. And honestly, you guys manage to bring humor to these situations. Yes, these are serious topics, and they are handled seriously and with consideration for the victims, but also, you guys deftly couch some difficult stuff with a bit of levity because you say what people would think in these situations, especially about the awful people who perpetrated these crimes (like yes, offer some historic perspective, but also, these people should be made fun of because they are/were terrible).
