This lady proves herself a disappointment. A privileged person in every way. A high flying privileged woman in a very superficial profession. And still complains for unfortunately not being able to conceive a female offspring. And oh the selective denial of science that gender is apparently not determined in the womb. Never-mind the genetic factors, chromosomes etc. the imagined prejudice against Asians. I am a Filipino , similar physical characteristics as an Indonesian person and this prejudice she’s talking about is news to me. How much could she have been suffering from it from her paid for business class flight to Paris? Utterly ridiculous. Mia, I love listening to you, I think you are highly intelligent but This guest was a head scratcher.
Non linear

I wanted to like this podcast, but Kate doesn’t guide her guests into telling a linear story, gets boring to listen to.

Can’t remember when I wrote the review below, but I’ve come back to say that I am still an avid listener. Mia Freedman is an excellent interviewer who asks the questions you want answered in a gentle, non-threatening way - even when they’re awkward and incredibly personal. I’m a Mamamia subscriber (and have been since the beginning) because I want to contribute a tiny amount towards the cost of the hours, upon hours of content I listen to every month. Thanks Mamamia and Mia Freedman for filling my life with interesting words - in all their forms. You may not necessarily be interested in every single guest at the outset but I find that every episode sparks my interest. Well worth listening to. Go back through the archives and listen gems like Jessica Rowe, Sarah Ferguson and Celeste Barber. You won’t be disappointed.
