As a lifelong Methodist, I have often wondered why our movement with its strong optimistic emphasis on God’s ability to save sinners and our mandate to promote “Holiness of heart and life” was always coming in second to PCA thinkers and groups who promote Calvinism such as Gospel Coalition,John Piper and the late Tim Keller? Orthodox Methodists have relentlessly built up a network to promote holiness of heart and life and sustain our optimism that God can completely save sinners “to the uttermost” through groups such as Firebrand, Seminary’s that build up potential Methodist Clergy such as Asbury, United, and Truett, sound and vibrant worship of King Jesus, and even book authors with a passion for discipleship such as Kevin Watson and theologians like Kenneth Collin’s. This Podcast is a triumph in that it promotes a critical two questions for Methodists: Are we flourishing in holiness? Do we love and seek Jesus TODAY just as much as we did when we first “knew our sin and knew the cure”-John Wesley. May today, the answer be yes on both counts!

This is my favorite podcast because the topics and discussions help me to integrate my faith with the reality of life. Jesus is not an abstract concept but a real person who we can experience through the Holy Spirit. Firebrand brings this hope for the world into sharper focus.
