Ink in Your Veins

I’ve been a listener for a few months now, my first memoir was published a year ago. Last night I saw my first one star review on Goodreads and it put me in a bad space. On today’s episode you talked about negative reviews and you said something along the lines of caring less about the one star reviews and more about the thoughtful two and three star reviews. It was exactly what I needed to hear to change my perspective. Thank you so much for the time you put into this podcast.

There are so few successful writers who are willing to pull back the curtain on the writing life, so I feel very grateful to Rachael for doing just that. Guests are working writers who reveal personal specifics about habits, struggles and best practices. There are also solo episodes (my fave) where Rachael answers listeners’ questions. These are basically mini-masterclasses.

Rachael has created an important and comforting window to the process of writing with this podcast. I’m a longtime listener, and still with every guest learn something new and helpful. It’s also fun to follow her journey through this career.

I am a huge fan of the How Do You Write podcast. I’m fascinated by process and how people do things to get where they need to go. I like the host’s style of delivery and speaking voice and have greatly enjoyed the variety of guests she’s had in the show. I have found quite a few new to me authors and books through these interviews. Thank you!
