Seeking Rents – The Podcast

I started following this podcast when big big Disney vs. DeSantis feud erupted - more just to keep track of what was happening. But even though I don’t even live in Florida, I find the podcast fascinating. I’m sure that other states’ legislators and Congress pull similar shenanigans to further enrich their donors at the expense of the average citizen, so it teaches me to be vigilant about what politicians in my state actually do vs. what they say, and to dig for more information about motives. I know that reading and listening about tax breaks and legislative favors isn’t as sexy as getting ticked off and venting about the latest culture war issues. But when the pundits and politicians move on to the next manufactured outrage, the issues Jason talks about will continue to have an impact on Floridians. I wish there was something similar to Jason’s podcast covering my state government!

Seeking Rents is spelling it like it is here in Florida, and indeed all citizens of this country who are being impacted by landlords and management companies who are creating unnecessary havoc and strife in our lives. This podcast spells out not just the money grab going on, but also the deeper inner workings of the privileged and powerful who are cold-heartedly ruining people, families, and entire communities. DeSantis and his cronies are officially on notice, even as our previous “president” is being exposed and put on trial for crimes against our Democracy. Thank you for shining your light on these greedy, nasty individuals and companies!

I didn’t know a lot about this host. He was introduced to me first when he was on Nickelodeon. Wow time has grown him up. The level an depth of knowledge. I can’t wait to hear more. I learned more about Florida politics on this than I had before.
