Everything fighters should know about UFC's $375M antitrust settlement | Ep. 104

Yesterday afternoon, the honorable Judge Boulware gave his preliminary approval of the revised settlement offer in the UFC antitrust case. The latest offer was for $375M and earmarked for just one of the classes (Le v. Zuffa), with the second class (Johnson v. Zuffa) moving forward as a separate case. The Johnson case will be asking for damages and injunctive relief. In today’s episode, we provide a short explainer that answers questions fighters may have about when and how their money will be distributed, as well as the next steps for the settlement to move forward. Follow along with our outline as you listen: Ep. 103 Outline * Judge Boulware granted preliminary approval for the Le v Zuffa settlement. Can you give us a rundown of what this means? * Did the judge say why he granted approval? * Which fighters belong to the Le class? * When and how much can they be expected to be paid? * There were some complaints about the attorneys' pay. How much are they getting paid and why are they getting paid before the fighters? * How does this settlement impact Johnson? ATTN: UFC Fighters (current & past) *Please note that we’ll be updating the pertinent information for current and former UFC fighters on what’s happening with the antitrust case for the foreseeable future.
