A fundamental change in treating cancer
This was an hour talk by Patrick Soon-Shiok. I am an MD/MBA and I found it outstanding. He discusses a topic whereby his efforts are revolutionizing cancer treatments. The concept of polyclonal cancers, where each clone has a specific T-Killer cell or he call an effector cell, that can attck those abberrant cells.
His model explains why there is a high recurrance after treatment to a specific clone. The idea to be able to look at ones genome, proteome, and determine proper treatment is on point. Since medical school it was apparent to me that the immune approach to cancer would work best.
Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiok is amazing and this video is just the start of the future of cancer treatments.
