Women Designers You Should Know

Hearing these women’s stories, how they approached design way back when, and even hearing from women today, has been such a source for inspiration for me. It’s given me new takes on design, how to approach my own practice, and historical work to be inspired by too. Highly Recommend!

I really love the mission and focus of this podcast, but the story telling aspects just feel so stale to me. I can tell that the hosts are reading from a script instead of having a conversation about these amazing women. Maybe I’m spoiled because I’m used to the format that Stuff You Should Know, 99% Invisible, and Throughline use. But I often find it hard to not get lost in thought while listening. But I LOVE the format of having amazing women designers help elevate and teach more about women from the past. Lots of potential, but might take a break for a bit.

These episodes dive into much more depth and interest than the Instagram stories ever could and I’m HERE FOR IT. I’ve learned so much for these episodes and find that this voice and narrative is so important in such a typically male driven field (and world) in teaching and informing where and from who some of the most important and creative ideas are and have come from!

Every artist and designer needs to listen to these! Such interesting, important conversations and stories. Representation and education matters, and we miss out by not learning from these amazing women!
