In 1959, a group of nine experienced hikers led by Igor Dyatlov set out on a trek in the Ural Mountains of Russia, also known as Russia’s Area 51. They never returned, and a search party later discovered their tent, which had been cut open from the inside. The bodies were found scattered in the area, each exhibiting strange injuries that perplexed investigators.
