I have spoken in many state schools over many years to children and young adults about getting into advertising. I have welcomed small groups into Spotify for work placement schemes and been impressed by how bright and determined they are. At the same time, our industry is still a Graduate first industry, much as we talk about diversity and inclusion, it remains a blind spot. We are used to hearing from successful people and their advice, but I thought it might be interesting to hear from those who have left school and come into advertising or are trying. Perhaps we could learn from them.
