You Can Talk About That?

Eric Davis

Hello Listeners! Does Free Speech really still exist in this country? Do you believe we can we talk about anything? Can followers of Jesus Christ discuss ANY issue, topic, controversy, or dysfunction of today without anger and walk away with their unity in Christ still intact?  Welcome to "YOU CAN TALK ABOUT THAT?” the podcast where we believe any topic is up for discussion. As believers in Christ Jesus our unity is rooted solidly in Him alone. So with that belief as our foundation, we should be able to discuss anything with an open dialogue, a sober mind, holding fast to scripture, and maintain a spirit of peace and unity. I'm your host, Eric, and here at YOU CAN TALK ABOUT THAT?, we're diving into a world of limitless topics. I will, by God’s grace, attempt to use the Bible/Biblical principles, theology, history, political science, social science, and special guests, to examine any topic. We will do deep dives and have light-hearted banter to explore together what God in Christ Jesus would have for us; as we sort out living in this world while longing for our true home. Whether you're here for biblically based content, thought-provoking discussions, or a fresh perspective on taboo topics, you've come to the right place.  Go to any platform:  Youtube, Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Podcasts and subscribe to "You Can Talk About That?"Follow us on Instagram. @youcantalkaboutthatYoutube:  https://youtube.com/@youcantalkaboutthat?si=i4ru1zuvdtTq9lcjGmail:  youcantalkaboutthat@gmail.com

    Be Angry..And Do Not Sin

Episode Title: Righteous vs. Sinful Anger: Following Jesus’ Example Episode Summary: In today’s episode, we’re diving into the topic of anger—a powerful emotion that can be a buried topic because we are told “don’t be angry ever!” The Bible teaches us that not all anger is sinful, but how do we tell the difference between sinful anger and righteous anger? We’ll look at examples from Scripture, including the times when Jesus Himself became angry—such as when He cleared the temple courts and confronted the Pharisees’ hypocrisy. His anger wasn’t about wounded pride or selfish desires; it was about protecting God’s glory, defending others, and standing against injustice. Together, we’ll explore: 🔥 What sinful anger looks like: rooted in selfishness, bitterness, or personal resentment ✨ What righteous anger looks like: moved by love, compassion, justice, and a desire for God’s truth to be honored. 🕊️ How to spot the difference in our daily lives and pause to ask: Is my anger about me—or about God’s purposes? ❤️ Practical steps to handle anger biblically—learning to slow down, pray, think about the log in your own eye, and channel emotions toward loving action, grief, and empathy instead of destruction. The goal isn’t to suppress anger but to let it be transformed by the Holy Spirit, so even in our strongest emotions, we reflect Jesus—living as compassionate, loving people who stand for truth and justice without sinning.
