RHOP and Monica Garcia on Viall Files
TW: Concepts of trauma, generational trauma, narcissistic abuse, parental no contact and DV are discussed.
In this episode, YBT shares clinical interpretations of the RHOP finale, both the finale of the show and finale of the franchise. YBT discusses bipolar disorder and applauds Gordon's honesty and MH advocacy.
YBT then breaks down the three-hour Viall Files podcast with Monica Garcia. YBT mentions it all by sharing clinical observations of Monica and Nick, and deep diving into a problematic caller segment during the episode. I share the story of the caller (who has no contact with their parents and thus the reason for the advice call) and YBT challenges some of Nick’s uninformed statements on the matter. This leads to a discussion about the role intergenerational trauma plays in no contact with family.

BONUS EP Online therapy platforms: Helping or Harming?
In this special bonus episode, YBT deep dives into the world of online therapy platforms, such as Better Help (which YBT accidentally calls better ‘health’ due to health on the brain, sorry!), Talkspace, and others. YBT sheds light on the dark side of the online therapy business, such as ethical issues including HIPAA violations. YBT outlines pros/cons for both patients AND practitioners, and shares many anonymous testimonials from people who have been negatively impacted by these platforms.
YBT shares resources by outlining excellent platforms that are certified and accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) and are Hitrust-certified. In addition, YBT provides resources for inclusive and reputable online therapy finder services, to help ALL people access they help they need and deserve.
Therapy should help, not harm. YBT loudly advocates for patients and providers and sends love and support to those who have been negatively impacted.

Customer Reviews
Thank you!
Always love listening to your professional views. You bring up so many things that is on our minds. One being your take on Nick Viail. I cringe when he starts to give advise and I never listen to his “therapy sessions”. He needs to stick with interviewing Bravo and take down the therapy sign.
Keep doing the great work as a professional therapist!
Interesting and Uplifting
So informative and entertaining! I’ve been binging and I love all of the elevated bravo and culture discussions.
Manipulative Host
As a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology who loves pop culture and enjoys reality television, I was very excited to find this podcast. While there are several red flags that have me questioning her ethics and her motives for perusing this career path, all I will say is that her constant reference to her degree followed by “so trust me” is the most concerning. Noting at the end of your podcast that they are your “opinions” and meant for “entertainment purposes only” after consistently referring to your degree and subject matter expertise and then promoting the audience to essentially take your opinions as facts is the definition of emotional manipulation. I cannot in good faith recommend this podcast.
