This week: Rev. Cylvia Hayes shares, “Your Resurrection is up to you, no matter the past — Rise and Rise Again!”.

Happy Easter! How perfect that the Easter observance takes place right after Spring equinox. This is a season about releasing the past and opening up to new growth. The conventional Christian Easter story is about Jesus coming back to life after being crucified. That is not how Easter resonates with me. Instead, I think this spring-time observance is a great time to reflect on the ways in which we crucify ourselves and how we can stop doing so. More importantly, we are actually in charge of our own resurrection, no matter the challenges that have taken us down – loss, addiction, abuse, past mistakes we may regret – none of those things define us and we each have the power to recreate our lives and our SELVES.
